Nominations close on February 6th at noon. Online voting for the final five nominees in each category starts on February 8th. The awards are handed out at the Saltys party on February 16th.

The Twitter Person of the Year exemplifies the heartbeat of the local Twitter community and should be recognized for the value their “tweets” bring to the Saint John region in particular when sharing their passion, discussing local issues and/or providing expertise.

The Best Facebook Page recognizes a local business that uses Facebook to engage their customers by providing a window into their daily operations, promoting “what’s up” and sharing expertise whenever possible.

Bloggers are the backbone of social media community. The Coolest Blog is a tribute to those pumping out theme specific content on topics of value to their readership and to the Saint John region.

As the largest video sharing site in the world, YouTube provides a high impact medium that offers something for everyone. The Hottest YouTube category is devoted to those videos produced here in Saint John that educate, excite and amuse us.

The Best Use of Social Media in a Campaign award recognizes effective and/or innovative use of social media as part of a marketing or public awareness campaign.
